Meet May
Mayleidys “May” Porraspita began her career as a litigator in 2006 after graduating from the University of Miami School of Law. After years of litigating civil, workers’ compensation, and family law cases she felt a real need to assist parties to stay out of court.
In 2015, she expanded her practice to include Mediations and received her mediator’s certifications in 2016. Currently, May is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Mediator in Circuit Civil, County Court and Family Law. She is a strong advocate of the mediation process as she has witnessed it helps litigants save time and money by avoiding long and expensive litigation.
As a family law attorney, May found that amicable resolution most beneficial in the family realm. She often advises her clients that an amicable divorce is a quicker and less painful experience. As a collaboratively trained attorney, May focuses on amicable resolution of divorce cases via mediation, an uncontested divorce, or via the collaborative process.
May is a Miami native with Cuban roots. She prides herself in being bilingual in English and Spanish offering her family law and mediation services fully in Spanish for those who are more comfortable dealing with delicate legal matters in their native tongue.
On her spare time, May enjoys time with her husband and four children traveling and hiking mountain trails.
